Working Committee Meeting: Meeting on COVID-19 economic impact management

The Working Committee to Address the Impact of COVID-19 on the National Economy held its meeting at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations on Thursday.

The meeting was chaired by Union Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung. She highlighted that companies which received a total of 200 billion kyats in COVID-19 relief loans since 2020 have repaid 136 billion kyats so far. As the repayment period of three years has ended, all outstanding loans must be repaid before the end of 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The committee discussed standard procedures (SOPs) for taking action against non-compliant companies, ensuring no losses to state funds, and coordinating between ministries for enforcement.
