











A seminar on "Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community" was held at the Youth Center in Thaketa Township, Yangon on Friday. It was organized by the Work Committee on the Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community in collaboration with the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee.
Vice Chairman of the Work Committee Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the event, and encouraged the youths enjoying reading at the library, drawing paintings, doing physical exercise and training computer lessons. This was followed by the performance of youths from the Education Committee and Myanma Radio and Television, and screening of a video clip on youth participation in quake recovery efforts.
The Union Minister also urged the youths to cherish the nation, parents and society while striving for self-development with correct thinking. During the event, 5 million kyat cash assistance and books were donated for the center, followed by the lucky draw program.
Chairman of Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee Chief Minister U Soe Thein also discussed the role of youths in social community works.
At night, the Union Minister and the Chief Minister enjoyed the music concert commemorating the Myanmar Music Day at MRTV in Yangon. Honouring the artists who contributed in Independence struggle of Myanmar by promoting patriotic spirit and nationalistic fervor through music, 27 June was designated as the Myanmar Music Day, and the celebration has been held annually.
