Work Undertakings: River clearance, fire drill and provisions for IDPs

To prevent MyitkyinaTownship of Kachin State from flooding in monsoon season, river clearance project for better water flow is taking place under Bala Min Htin Bridge.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan along with the officials inspected the sand dredging works under the bridge on February 3rd.

There, the Chief Minister met with the departmental officials to hear the reports of conducting working process. In accordance with the guidelines of the State, discussions on flood preventive efforts with experts were made and the Chief Minister instructed for workplace safety without damaging roads and gave necessary instructions.

On February 4th, the Chief Minister attended the knowledge sharing ceremony for Fire Safety held at the hall of the State Government Office.

There, the Chief Minister viewed the demostration of using 191 Report Mobile Application and its advantages by the official from State Fire Services Department and demonstration of fire extinguishing measure by the staff. The Chief Minister provided 1 million kyats cash reward to the fire brigade members and toured around the display of modern fire extinguishers and search and rescue tools and equipment.

The Chief Minister later proceeded to Manaw Shwe Pyi Hall at Assembly Office in Myitkyina to meet with the Internally displaced people from Bamaw Township and made encouragement. The Chief Minister provided 117 rice bags and clothes for 1,026 households.
