Work Undertakings: New school building and provision of cash assistance

A new school building for the Pre-Primary School was opened in Hampaloet Village of Taunggyi on Thursday.

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win attended the opening ceremony and took part in the ceremonial ribbon cutting event. They also presented toys and snacks for the children and took a tour around the new school building. The Union Minister later attended a ceremony to provide cash assistance to the displaced persons in Shan State.

Over 5.3 billion kyat cash assistance were provided for more than 89,000 displaced persons during the event. In addition, over 12.6 million kyat cash assistance were provided for the venerable communities affected by floods in Pindaya and Pinlaung Townships of Nyaung Shwe Township. From January to June, over 11.3 billion kyat cash assistance have been provided for the displaced persons in Shan State.
