A discussion on implementing Myanmar’s National Waste Management Strategy and Master Plan (2018–2030) was held in Sittwe on Thursday.

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended the event and made a speech, highlighting the major global environmental problems such as climate change, pollution, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. He stressed the importance of proper waste management, recycling, and building a circular economy to reduce pollution and support sustainable development.

In the afternoon, the Chief Minister attended a coordination meeting at the State Government Office. He emphasized the timely completion of projects funded by the 2025–2026 state budget and proper financial management according to rules and regulations.
