Deputy Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw U Maung Maung Ohn met with community elders, departmental officials, and village administrators in Tatkone Township on Sunday.

The meeting commenced with screening of a video clip titled “New Political Landscape and a Bright Future of Myanmar.” The Deputy Speaker urged all to work together in unity for building a peaceful and developed nation. He encouraged cooperation between the government, hluttaw, and the public.

Officials responded the questions from attendees, and the Deputy Speaker coordinated the needs. After that, he visited a construction site for a new Buddha Sasana Beikmandawgyi in Tatkone Township, which was damaged by the March 28, 2025 Mandalay earthquake.

He instructed officials to ensure safety and complete the project on time with proper standards. The Buddha Sasana Beikman was damaged and collapsed due to the Mandalay earthquake and it is now being rebuilt using donated funds. The new building will be a two-storey reinforced concrete structure and will include one elevator. The construction period has been set for two years. The project began on December 16, 2025, with a ground-breaking ceremony.
