A Work Coordination Meeting of the Union Supreme Court and regional/state courts was held via video conference in Nay Pyi Taw on August 14.

Chief Justice U Tha Htay delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the role of judiciary staff in supporting the upcoming multi-party democratic elections. He also stressed the need for fair and timely case handling, adherence to laws and policies, and public awareness programs about the legal system.

He also highlighted the importance of improving knowledge in intellectual property laws, strengthening international legal cooperation, and enhancing legal and language skills. The 2025 judicial work plan under the 2023–2027 Judicial Strategic Plan has been launched, and the judiciary is also working on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) strategies.

From January to June 2025, courts handled over 166,000 criminal and civil cases with a resolution rate of 99.78%. The meeting will continue until August 15, with senior judges and legal officials from across the country participating.
