Work Coordination Meeting : Union Minister for Construction delivered opening remarks

The Work Coordination Meeting (4/2026) of the Supervisory Committee for the Reconstruction, Renovation, and New Construction of Buildings was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was attended by the committee chairman, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, who delivered the opening address. In his opening remarks, the Committee Chairman Union Minister urged that full efforts be made to complete, within the 2026–2027 fiscal year, the reconstruction and renovation of government office buildings, special buildings, and civil servant housing that were damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.

He also stated that any operational or technical difficulties encountered would be coordinated and addressed in a timely manner. Following this, committee members including Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than and Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay delivered supplementary opening remarks.

The committee secretary, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Construction, then presented reports on the progress of ongoing work.

Afterwards, deputy ministers from the ministries participating in the committee, officials from various regions and states, committee members, and responsible officials attending the meeting discussed and submitted suggestions according to their respective sectors. In response to these discussions and suggestions, the Committee Chairman and Union Minister coordinated and facilitated the necessary work requirements and delivered concluding remarks.
