





In order to successfully implement the working processes of the country’s five point roadmap and future plans, a work coordination meeting was held at the Ministry of Immigration and Population from July 17 to 18.
Union Minister U Myint Kyaing attended the meeting together with Deputy Ministers and concerned officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister stated the ministry’s efforts for successful holding of free and fair multi party democratic general election. The meeting is held to discuss accuracy of voters list, issuance of identity cards to every eligible voter to cast vote during the elections and future plans.
Currently, the Ministry is implementing the Pan Khin Project to issue household lists and National Registration Cards, and the project implementation has now reached to phase-3. Under this program, the National Registration Cards have been issued to over 9.7 million citizens.
The project period has been expanded till 31 October 2025 to be able to issue NRC cards to additional 4 million people. Region and State field census supervision committees are urged to scrutinize and verify the collected lists to ensure accurate voter lists, due to migration of people by terrorist incidents and natural disasters.
In addition, systematic scrutinizing have to be made for immigration of foreign nationals and foreigner detention issues. Related departmental officials are urged for systematic issuance of 10 digits Unique ID numbers after collecting Biographic and Biometric Data. The meeting focused on strong and weak points of individual working process from regions and states as well as current and future plans.
