Work coordination meeting: Meeting to organize construction materials market fair

The Ministry of Commerce held a work coordination meeting on Tuesday in Nay Pyi Taw to organize a construction materials market fair for the rehabilitation efforts in earthquake-hit areas.

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than and Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn attended the meeting and delivered speeches.In his speech, Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than stressed the importance of steel, cement and construction materials for earthquake rehabilitation.

He noted significant price differences in affected areas due to demand. He said the planned market fair aims to ensure timely access to quality materials at fair prices. The Union Minister called for cooperation from all departments and associations to ensure the fair's success.

Then, Union Minister U Tun Ohn encouraged participation in the market fair under the guidance of relevant associations.During the meeting, the relevant associations assured responsibility and transparency in the market fair, committing to provide quality products at affordable prices. Sika Myanmar Limited and Aung Pyitan Co., Ltd. discussed efforts to boost cement production and offer discounts during the fair.

This was followed by attendee reports on planned cooperation to sell construction materials at affordable prices.Aiming to provide quality materials at reasonable prices for rebuilding earthquake-damaged structures and to accelerate construction, the market fair will be held in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing Region, and Mandalay Region.
