Committee Vice Chairman Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than provided additional clarifications on the Working Committee Chairman’s guidance for industrial and industrial zone development at the Mandalay Region Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection on Sunday.

The Union Minister conveyed the Prime Minister’s guidance on the timely implementation of 15 key points, assigning Mandalay Region committees the task of developing industries and industrial zones in line with laws and regulations. He emphasized the committees’ responsibilities, including setting KPIs, compiling investment and production data, monitoring workforce and land use, and promoting industrial growth.

Underscoring the importance of industrial development, the Union Minister called for a focus on meeting local needs, creating employment, and increasing the industrial sector’s contribution to the region’s GDP through efficient manufacturing activities. He heard sector-wise reports on the efforts for systematic development of industrial enterprises in Mandalay Region, implementation of Industrial Zone Law and rules, and ongoing work by industrial zones to support enterprise growth.

The Union Minister then met with the staff of the Mandalay Region Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection and factory staff.  He emphasized the adherence to laws and regulations for business and industrial zone development, safe operations and efficient use of electricity and boilers.

He urged all staff to enhance their skills to perform supervisory and service duties effectively. In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Pharmaceutical Factory (InYaung) in Kyaukse and met with factory officials and staff in the Kyaukse Industrial Zone. He commended their efforts in steadily increasing production and highlighted growth in both private and public-private partnership factories. He urged the staff to maintain focus, keep accurate records, and follow orders and instructions closely to further enhance production.

The Union Minister also toured the Intravenous Solution Manufacturing Department and later visited No. 7 Textile Factory (WanTwin) to inspect earthquake recovery work. He instructed officials to secure recovered equipment, carry out repairs and reinstall it promptly to resume production.
