WHO chief visits Kyiv, urges Russia to end war

The Director-General of the World Health Organization visited Kyiv on Saturday and repeated his plea to Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organization said "My message to all the people of Ukraine is that WHO stands with you. We will do everything we can to support the government in its efforts to treat the injured, maintain health services, and to repair and strengthen Ukraine's health systems. But there is one medicine that WHO cannot deliver and which Ukraine needs more than any other, and that is peace. So we continue to call on the Russian Federation to stop this war."

Tedros said the WHO had verified 200 attacks on health care facilities in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict.
