White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday reiterated that the Biden administration remains resistant for now on banning Russian oil imports, raising concerns that such a ban could have a negative impact for U.S. and European economies.

Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary said "We are looking at options we could take right now to cut US consumption of Russian energy. But we are very focused on minimizing the impact to families. If you reduce supply in the global marketplace, you are going to rise, raise gas prices, you're going to the raise the price of oil and that is something the president is very mindful of and focused on”.

Psaki also called on Russian forces to withdraw Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in southeastern Ukraine. Russian troops seized the plant earlier Friday."The best step for nuclear safety would be for Russia to immediately withdraw," Psaki said.
