





The Weaving and Vocational Training Schools under Department of Small-Scale Industries of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is scheduled to open training courses for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
The Department is now calling for the applicants to join the one-year training courses for weaving and textile skills and 6-month course for hand weaving.
The applicants must be Myanmar citizens and they need to have the certificates for their education levels, police clearance letter. They must have to be single to apply the courses.
The department also arranges the hostels for the trainees and provides 30,000 kyat for each trainee per month. The training courses will be opened on 1st January, and those who interested in weaving can apply before the deadline of 29th December.
Director, Department of Small Scale Industries, Yi Yi Hlaing said "There are 13 weaving training schools in 11 regions and states and the training schools will be opened 1st January next year. In 2023 Academic year, one-year training courses for weaving and textile skills and, hand weaving courses for 6-month will be conducted starting from 1st January next year. Our department announced in the newspaper for the courses so as to submit application by those who are interested in."
The Weaving and Vocational Training Schools produce the skillful workers for Myanmar’s Garment Industry and private weaving businesses. Every year, the trainees are employed by Meiktila Garment Factory and ThaMine Garment Factory. So, the trainees can get more job opportunities after completing the courses at the Weaving and Vocational Training School.
