Water Supply Project: Measures For Water Supply In Bago Inspected

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe inspected water supply project in Bago on Monday. The Union Minister, the Bago Region chief Minister U MyoSwe Win and officials visited water supply project in the town that is jointly implemented by the Department of Rural Development and the Bago Township Development Affairs Committee.
After hearing reports of officials, the Union Minister stressed the needs on regular operation of water supply in the town, completion of the tasks as much as possible, installation of remaining water meters, efficient use of supply water and regular maintenance work.
At the meeting with departmental officials, the Union Minister discussed capital, input and solar water  supply tasks that are plans to cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestocks and Irrigation for the extended culivation of sunflowers to ensure domestic edible oil sufficiency. The Chief Minister of Bago Region discussed choosing the areas where the sunflower cultivation can thrive and cooperation to be made with relevant departments.
The Union Minister and party then looked into implementation of water supply project that can distribute daily 0.81 million gallons of water to 11,700 population in 12 wards in Bago by purifying water from Kandawgyi Dam with Plastic Filter Media and Gravel Media, water purification with down flow in the water filter tank and water chlorination and fulfilled the requirements.
They then observed the sale of local products produced by Thapyu Industrial Cooperative Association in Kawa Township.
