Water dragon dance

Dazzling performances of water dragon dance staged in ancient town of Anju in China’s Chongqing Municipality have attracted both locals and tourists alike.

The unique traditional dragon dance is one of celebration events held by locals to mark the upcoming Duanwu Festival, or Dragon Boat Festival, which is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar and falls on 10th June this year. Splashing water to the dragon brings luck in traditional Chinese culture, therefore both performers and viewers are happy with their clothes getting soaked.
