Water Apply technology and Awareness: MoALI Deputy Minister inspects Alaing Ni dam in Bago Region

The government is implementing dams, reservoirs and irrigation systems for the sufficient supply of irrigated water. Likewise, officials need to carry out water distribution tasks, water use technology and conduct awareness to prevent the loss of irrigated water and use effectively said Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. AungGyi during his inspection tour to Alaing Ni dam in Bago Region on 31st January.

Alaing Ni dam is located in KyantKhunt village in Bago Region and it is an eathern type and supplying water to 4,447 acres of summer paddy field.  The surplus water of the dam is sent to Lagoon Pyin dam in Yangon Region through Alaing Ni-Lagoon Pyin water channel. The deputy minister and party then visited Perennial Plants Research and Technology Development Farm (Indagaw) and looked into making research of rubber strains and technology for rubber growers.

They then inspected the site chosen for the tasks of Animal Quarantine Station in 10-mile Bago farm. In the evening, the deputy minister and party went to a private factory of value-added livestock product in HlaingThaya Industrial Zone in Yangon and looked into production of chicken sausages and called for hygiene food and food safety for the consumers.
