Waso Robe Offering: Office of Commander-in-Chief holds ceremony 2022

Families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held the Waso robe offering ceremony 2022 at the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) on Friday.

Chairman of the State Administration Council [SAC] Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla as well as many other officials and their wives attended the ceremony at the Anawrahta Hall.

During the ceremony, the Senior General and wife offered meals, flowers, water and oil light to the Buddha image. Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee [SSMNC] Presiding Nayaka of Bhamo Monastery of Mandalay Bhamo Sayadaw administered the Nine Precepts.

The Senior General and wife donated Waso robes and alms to the Sayadaw. SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Waso robes and offertories to Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee.

Council members and wives, the Council secretary and wife, the Joint Secretary and wife and senior military officers also donated Waso robes and offerings to members of the Sangha.

Meiktila Sayadaw delivered a sermon, and the congregation shared the merits gained. After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife, the Vice-Senior General and wife and senior military officers offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
