Viet Nam ready to foster ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Cooperation

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Headquarters and witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the GCC Secretariat.

The GCC Secretary General affirmed that all six Gulf countries have maintained good relations with Viet Nam, and there is still significant potential for cooperation between the two sides. The Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam's readiness to act as a bridge and facilitate cooperation between ASEAN and the GCC, two dynamic regions of development in the world, for the sake of peace, stability, and development in the region and beyond.

He urged both sides to promptly agree on a specific cooperation program to effectively implement the MoU. Also as part of his trip to the Middle East nation, he received the Executive Director of the Saudi Fund for Development and the Governor of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.
