Viet Nam is accelerating a national strategy to develop unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as a cornerstone of its emerging low-altitude economy. Despite growing potential, Viet Nam’s UAV industry is facing a shortage of high-quality talent.

In response, higher education institutions in Viet Nam are set to officially introduce UAV-related majors from the 2026 academic year.  Likewise, they are strengthening partnerships with UAV companies to provide students with practical experience.

The goal is to ensure graduates can immediately meet industry needs and contribute to Viet Nam’s emerging high-tech sectors. The launch of specialized UAV majors is expected to narrow the talent gap and support industry growth.
