Venezuela signs 'historic' agreement with General Electric to rebuild its power grid

Venezuela signed an agreement with the US utility giant General Electric to rebuild its decrepit power grid. "This memorandum of understanding being signed on Monday is also a historic step for Venezuela," said acting president Delcy Rodriguez. Most of Venezuela endures daily blackouts lasting up to 10 hours as the country deals with decades of neglect and underinvestment in the energy sector and elsewhere.
