Vegetable & Fruit Development: Meeting with officials from agriculture sector

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo met officials from agriculture sector in Shan State on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the Union Minister gave a speech. On arrival at the Vegetable and Fruit Development Center in Hlaing Tet village of Thazi Township, the Union Minister discussed distribution of valued-added vegetables and fruits technology for the farmers’ income, practice on drafting papers and records concerning finding research and the needs for publishing books and periodicals on technique for the people.

The Union Minister and party then held meeting with farmers who produce the seeds at 250-acre pre-monsoon long staple cotton model field in Aung Tha village-tract and asked about their experience on producing quality cotton strain, the correct flow of seeds produced by the department, effective reproduction and distribution of quality strain and high yield.

In response to the reports, the Union Minister fulfilled the needs.  From there, the Union Minister and party visited Livestock Applied Research and Reproductive Farm (Thaphan) in Meikhtila and inspected production of quality strain and making applied researches.

There, the Union Minister stressed the needs on making research of animal feed plants that are suitable with the region and production and distribution of crops. The Union Minister then looked into arrangements for getting water to be used in breeding and animal feed plant cultivation.
