Value-added Coconut Products: Plans to produce more coconut products in Coco Kyun

With cooperation of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and the businessmen of Small-scale Industry, arrangements are being made to produce more coconut products and handicrafts which are mainly produced in Coco Kyun in Yangon Region and to be sold with affordable price.

Besides, teachers from Small-scale Industries Department conducted value-added products of coconut, consumer goods and coconut handicrafts training courses for two weeks. Some locals who have completed the training course are running their own business in the region and are trying to distribute their products to the market.

Similarly, the technical trainings on consumer products by using coconut fibers will be opened for the locals to create job opportunities.Besides, the Ministry will provide machines for establishing the coconut coir factory to develop Coco Island and plans are also made to develop such kind of industry in other regions and states.
