Starting from the last week of August, the infection rate of COVID-19 is gradually rising again in Yangon Region.

Especially in June and July, COVID-19 infection rate is leading to an increase in neighboring countries bordering Myanmar.

During this time, Myanmar is speeding up the health checks for those who entering from abroad.

1st time vaccinations of COVID-19 are being provided to those who have not yet been vaccinated and 2nd dose is being carried out after 28 days or a month of first dose.

In addition, the 3rd booster injection is given after 6 months to those who have fully vaccinated for 2 times. As COVID-19 spread again in many countries globally, those who have completed the 6-month period of 3rd dose are being given 4th vaccination.

Assistant Director, Department of Public Health (Yangon), Dr. Thet Su Mon said "As soon as there is an increase in the number of infected people, if only those who live in and outside the region received the full vaccination, they will be protected from COVID-19 infection. The death rate will be decreased with the strong protection against severity. By following the COVID-19 restrictions such as wearing masks, washing hands and receiving the full dose of vaccination at the specified time, and in cooperation with the relevant local health workers and societies, we can surely prevent the resurgence of the COVID-19 disease."

On Sunday, COVID-19 vaccines are administered to the migrant people in 14-acre area of MyaungDagar Village-tract, Hmawbi Township.

Along with the COVID-19 vaccination, the routine immunization process is being provided to the children who have not yet vaccinated.

In cooperation with the Hmawbi Township Department of Health, efforts are being made for public to receive a full dose of specific types of vaccines.

Assistant Director, Department of Public Health (Yangon), Dr. Thet Su Mon said "Special care are being provided for public to be able to receive fully vaccination, in addition to providing education on how to contact its relevant clinics, hospitals and health department in the case of emergency of health."

It is learnt that health awareness activities will be carried out in crowded places such as orphanages and IDP camps to receive fully vaccinated.
