US supports SADC peace efforts (ABU)

The United States government has pledged its support to the Southern Africa Development Community’s (SADC) quest to find a solution to the ongoing conflicts in Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo. United States Ambassador to Zambia said the American government agrees with President of Zambia’s view that both conflicts must be resolved for SADC to be peaceful.

He also said the American government wants to see a peaceful region which can guarantee safety to its residents. And, United Nations Resident Coordinator said much progress has been made by SADC to ensure peace prevails in the Cabo Delgado Province of northern Mozambique.
