US Secretary of State lands in the Dominican Republic

Marco Rubio arrived at the Dominican Republic's Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo as part of his trip to Central America, his first as the US Secretary of State. 

He will meet with President Luis Abinader at the National Palace to discuss the review of US Agency for International Development (USAID) programs that have been suspended for review by the new administration.

The US diplomat has already met with the presidents of Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala in their respective countries during his tour to Central America.
