U.S., Indian troops train in jungle warfare

U.S. Army soldiers from the 11th Airborne Division and Indian Army soldiers from the Garhwal Regiment conducted joint training in jungle warfare, indoor firing and rock-face rappelling at Auli during Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026.

The troops operated in integrated squads, navigating dense vegetation, engaging targets with simulation rounds and practising combined small-unit tactics to strengthen interoperability and familiarity with each other’s tactics, techniques and procedures. The training concluded with a joint rock-face rappelling exercise, enhancing mountain-warfare skills for operations in the rugged, high-altitude terrain around Auli.
