US chipmaker to invest $7bn in new Malaysia plant

Intel Corporation said it will invest around 7 billion USD to expand its manufacturing capabilities in advanced semiconductor packaging technology in Malaysia. 

Intel CEO said that Intel's facilities in Penang, Malaysia, would be expanded. He also said Intel would add another location in the country as part of its 10-year plan and it was expected to create more than 4,000 new jobs.  Intel has been in Malaysia for almost 50 years.
