US charges woman with IS-inspired plot to blow up New York State Capitol

US authorities charged a woman called Bowie on Thursday in connection with IS-inspired terror plot to bomb the New York State Capitol. According to the Department of Justice, Bowie faced one count of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. 

Federal agents arrested her immediately after informants handed her an inert explosive device and an inert handgun.

John A. Sarcone III, Federal Prosecutor said  "The charge against Bowie carries a statutory maximum prison term of 20 years, a fine of up to $250,000, and a lifetime term of supervised release."
