Uruguayans pay respects to musician Ruben Rada at Legislative Palace

Thousands of Uruguayans gathered at the Legislative Palace in Montevideo to pay their final respects to the legendary musician Rubén Rada. Rada, a Latin Grammy winner for Musical Excellence and a foundational figure of the Afro-Uruguayan candombe genre, passed away at the age of 83 due to complications from pneumonia.

President Yamandú Orsi declared an official day of mourning, ordering national flags to fly at half-mast across all public buildings and embassies.
