



The upgrading works of LeikPyaKan (butterfly lake) which is one of landmark of Bago Township situated at the corner of Thet Net Pin Street and Ko Min Ko Chin Street in Bago township to be in a city’s characteristics.The upgrading works implementing with the regional development fund of Bago City Development Committee have been completed at more than 90 %.
Assistant engineer, Bago City Development Committee , U Naing Lin Oo, said “ There are three phases in the upgrading work including upgrading Thet Net Pin and Ko Min Ko Chin Streets and construction of platform in the lake. Htoo Lin Company won the tender and conducted the constructions.
We conducted with the fund of Bago City Development Committee. The total amount of permit fund was over 200 million for all three phases. With the instructions of Chief Minister, we conducted installation of new handrails, paving fancy blocks pathway, installation of park benches and decorated lamp posts. The Township dwellers can do morning exercise and relax here.”
Upgrading works brought about a dramatic transformation in the lake said Assistant engineer of the Bago City Development Committee.
Assistant engineer, Bago City Development Committee , U Naing Lin Oo, said “ In the past, the walking path was narrow and it was level with the street. So, the walking path is not quite distinguished from the street. We change handrails design, expand and level up the walking path, construct platform above the water and arrange the benches attached with lightning.”
Awareness programmes will be conducted to maintain the lake for the long term after completing the upgrading works.
