Union Government Meeting: State Prime Minister delivered the opening speech

The Union Government Meeting (4/2025) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held at the Meeting Hall of Office No. (18), Union Government Office in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on October 22.

The Prime Minister U Nyo Saw attended and delivered an address. Union Ministers and responsible officials attended the meeting, while the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and the Regions and States Chief Ministers joined via video conference.

First, in his opening address, the State Prime Minister stated that the government, prioritizing the three main national causes, is successfully driving and implementing the four objectives set by the National Defence and Security Council across various sectors.

On the international front, repeated engagements have been made between the Head of State and the international leaders, leading to increased support, understanding, and economic cooperation opportunities for the country. Therefore, he urged the ministries to strive for the successful completion of sector-specific tasks for national development, in line with these gained opportunities.

He also mentioned that the trade system has begun using the faster On Net 2.0 system and emphasized the need for systematic cooperation to develop international online markets and trade sectors. Furthermore, the State Prime Minister discussed and gave instructions regarding the need to expand the cultivation of cotton, bamboo, and rubber in agriculture; and necessary actions in the industrial sector, illegal trade and enforcement actions, education, health, sports, and finance and taxation sectors.

Regarding the election, he emphasized the need to carry out tasks in accordance with transparent electoral processes to successfully hold a free, fair, and multi-party democracy general election. This includes educating the public on using the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM), enhancing security during the election period, and other related measures.

He urged the attendees of the meeting to actively provide suggestions and discuss for the development of the State according to their respective sectors. Subsequently, the attending Union Ministers read out, explained, and presented their addresses. Following this, the State Prime Minister coordinated and provided necessary support regarding the presentations and discussions of the Union Ministers, delivered concluding remarks, and the meeting was concluded.
