The UN appealed for more than $47 billion to deliver vital aid next year, warning surging conflicts and the climate crisis will leave hundreds of millions of people in need. "The world is on fire," UN Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher told the reporters in Geneva, acknowledging he is looking ahead to 2025.

Tom Fletcher, UN Humanitarian Chief said "We've just passed the number that makes this the deadliest year to be a humanitarian worker on record. It's a shocking thing for me to have to announce in my first week in the job, and those numbers have gone up again."

United Nations' new humanitarian chief said the Global Humanitarian Overview is going to launch this week.
