UEC Announcement : List of constituencies where elections will not be held

The Union Election Commission (UEC) announced the list of constituencies where elections will not be held in the upcoming 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election starting December 28, 2025.

No elections will be held in 9 areas from Chin State, Sagaing Region and Rakhine State for Pyithu Hluttaw constituencies, 2 areas from Chin and Rakhine States for Amyotha Hluttaw FPTP constituencies, 9 areas from Chin State, Sagaing Region and Rakhine States for Region/State Hluttaw FPTP constituencies due to conditions that prevent free and fair voting.

The Elections will be held in the remaining 265 constituencies for Pyithu Hluttaw, 73 constituencies for Amyotha Hluttaw FPTP, 26 constituencies for Amyotha Hluttaw  PR, 257 constituencies for Region/State Hluttaw FPTP, 42 constituencies for Region/State Hluttaw PR, 29 constituencies for Region/State Hluttaw Ethnic Constituency.

The announcement was signed by U Than Soe, Chairman of the Union Election Commission.
