U Ottama Day: 83th anniversary of U Ottama Day observed in Rakhine State

The Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr. Aung Kyaw Min and ministers paid obeisance to the statue of Sayadaw U Uttama situated in U Ottama Park in Sittwe and laid wreath commemorating 83th anniversary of U Ottama Day in the morning on September 9.

Likewise, the people, political parties, civil society organizations and national races paid obeisance and laid wreaths in the remembrance of Sayadaw U Ottama.

Similarly, the people, political parties, civil society organization from the townships in Rakhine State also paid obeisance and laid wreaths on the U Ottama Day. 

In the afternoon, the students who won the prizes at the literary ability contest of “Zarti Ponnya Gon Marna” were awarded at U Ottama Hall in Sittwe held in commemoration of the 83th anniversary U Ottama Day which designated Sayadaw U Ottama who was a beacon of hope for Myanmar Independence and a ray of Asia.
