The ancient Apollon Temple in Türkiye’s western district of Didim welcomed visitors after dark as part of the country’s night museum programme. Illuminated columns and monumental stone structures create a dramatic atmosphere, allowing tourists to explore one of the ancient world’s best-preserved temples beneath the night sky.
Built in the Ionic architectural style, the Apollon Temple is described as the third-largest temple of its kind in the world. Its construction continued for around 300 years but was never completed. According to the reporter, the surviving structures represent only about 25 percent of the original plan. The Apollon Temple will remain open for night visits until October 1.
