Trust, Stability & Development: 2nd day of the Forum on the Dawn of a New State

The 2nd day of the Forum on the Dawn of a New State (Trust, Stability & Development) continued at the Myanmar International Convention Center I in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

The 1st session of the forum inaugurated with the discussion titled Opportunities and Challenges for Myanmar’s Development and Stability -2, followed by the brief discussions on Agriculture, Livestock Breeding, Oil Production, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Employment and Comprehensive Development, Infrastructure, Energy and Public-Private Partnership.

Afterwards, deliberations were conducted on matters pertaining to development of nation’s economic sector such as food security, private sector development, market stability, production cost reduction, raw material requirement, value added production, edible oil production and foreign investment.

Subsequently, dialogues on purposes of SME Development law, policy and by-law, legal protection, role of youth and women in MSME sector, access to social protection support, distinction between illegal and informal business, the formation of Independent Body for MSME and future roadmap were held. Following this, ideas were exchanged on Myanmar infrastructure and transportation development.

The 2nd session continued with the talks titled “Opportunities and Challenges for Myanmar’s Development and Stability-3”, emphasizing on digital economy and innovation policy, geoeconomic and regional integration, human resource development and labor reform. It also focused on the pros and cons of AI Technology and further work implementations.

The forum also highlighted the changing global political landscape and its consequences, development gap among ASEAN member states, Myanmar’s education sector and human resource development, research and innovation engagement and access to comprehensive education.

In his closing remarks, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn expressed his appreciation for the active and constructive participation of the attendees and called on them to fulfill their respective responsibilities, upholding the interests of the nation and its people.
