Trump picks IT giants critic as chair of Federal Communications Commission

US President-elect Donald Trump has picked Brendan Carr, a vocal critic of giant IT firms, to chair the Federal Communications Commission. He is a senior Republican member of the commission. Trump made the announcement on Sunday, stating, "Commissioner Carr is a warrior for Free Speech.

" Carr has been demanding stricter regulations on big tech players, such as Google and Meta. The move is included in the "Project 2025" plan that a conservative think tank launched with Trump's potential return to the presidency in mind.
