Some 1,500 Bolivian truck drivers are being given humanitarian aid by Bolivia's government after being stranded for six days at Chile's border due to COVID-19 checks.
Chile will not allow any of them to enter without proof of a negative rapid result test. Bolivia's Ministry of Health sent two ambulances and six doctors to provide the testing required.
Due to the number of people being tested, it will most likely take a week to test all the drivers. If a driver is found to have indeed been infected by coronavirus they are required to wait an additional 10 days inside their truck cabins.
Bolivia's government has asked the Chilean government for guidance as to how to quickly facilitate a resolution to the problem but have not yet been given an answer.
