Tripartite coordination meeting: Union Minister for Labour addressed the meeting

The tripartite coordination meeting of the government, Employers and Employees was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Labor, Nay Pyi Taw via Virtual System.  At the meeting, Union Minister for Labor U Myint Kyaing said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, for the regular operation of factories and workshops, to prevent unemployment of workers, generating job opportunities, earning workers' wages in time, the tripartite coordination meeting was held with the aim of resolving labor disputes in accordance with the law and openly consulting in the workplace.

The closure of factories and workshops will hurt the interests of employers and workers, as well as affect the productivity of the country and further weaken economic growth. By means of peaceful settlement within the factory in a constructive manner, the relation between the employers and employes in working place will improve. Then, the union minister elaborated COVID-19 jabs for the workers in the industrial zones in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions. Employer Workplace relations will be improved through constructive and to improve workers' workplace relations.

Afterward, the director general of the Department of Labor briefed the decisions made at the meeting held on 3 August and the members of the Arbitration Council, Employers' representatives; Workers' representatives; Members of the conciliation body; Representatives from various industrial zones reported on the industrial problems and the requirements to be fulfilled and the Director Generals supplemented. Then, the union minister gave a speech of conclusion.
