The 2025 Monsoon Season Tree Planting and Fish Releasing Ceremony of the Ministry of Information was held within the compound of Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw on June 23rd.

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn delivered the opening remarks, stating that this event marked the ministry’s fourth annual tree planting ceremony, where a total of 2,000 trees including 1,500 general saplings and 500 Sein Ta Lone mango trees would be planted.

Simultaneously, 5,000 fingerlings of species such as Nga Myit Chin (Rohu) and Thai Barbs would also be released. He emphasized the importance of forests in mitigating climate change and called on all involved to ensure the survival of the planted trees through consistent care and maintenance.

He also urged collective efforts to conserve existing natural forests and remaining tree cover. Following this, the Union Minister and his wife led the tree planting activity by planting a Gangaw tree. Officials from the ministry, including the permanent secretary, directors-general, department heads, staff, and their families, planted the remaining trees at designated spots.

The Union Minister observed the group’s planting efforts and showed support. After that, the Union Minister inspected a 150,000-gallon water filtering tank that supplies water to MRTV buildings and staff housing. The 2025 Fish Releasing Ceremony was then held at the MRTV fishpond, where the Union Minister and his wife led the release of the fingerlings, followed by senior officials, staff, and their families.

The Union Minister and officials also observed the breeding of 175 goats and 366 ducks breeding within the MRTV compound. Next, they visited the MRTV main building to observe the Advanced Course for Broadcasting Training, a one-month course provided by the Technical Department for MRTV engineering staff.

At the Conference Room, the Union Minister and party attended a presentation by Mr. Dennis, CEO of Elevate Company, explaining the importance of Content Delivery Networks (CDN) in Internet Over-the-Top (OTT) broadcasting of MRTV channels and the use of AI technologies in TV production.

Finally, the Union Minister and officials visited News Studio-2 to observe the live taping of “Question and Answer for the public information” which is broadcast daily on MRTV HD Channel at 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM the next day.
