Travel Safe Application: Ensuring security, health and safety of tourists

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is promoting the implementation of tourism development, smooth process for the tourists, health and safety measures.

At present, visitors from more than 30 countries are visiting the country through international airports. On Saturday, Travel Safe Application project was introduced at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

Developed by Golden TMH Company, the project aims for health and security screening for trvelers. Union Minister Dr Htay Aung said the global tourism industry has been declined since late 2019 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

In Myanmar, domestic tourism has been thriving back since October 2021, and the international commercial flights are granted for operation in April this year. Permissions for the Business Visa were also granted and the Tourism Visa was also permitted starting May 20.

The international visitors have come to Myanmar by 11 international airlines. The Union Minister stressed that it is important for ensuring security, health and safety measures for the tourists.

Despite the COVID-19 infection is declining, there are other variants and it is still needed to monitor carefully. The Ministry is carrying out the Health and Safety Protocol process in 7 areas of tourism. It was followed by the explanation on the Travel Safe Application.
