Translation of Laws: 17th meeting of the Legal Translation Commission

17th meeting of the Legal Translation Commission Working Committee and Sub Committees was held at the Ministry of Legal Affairs on 7th November.

At the meeting, Chairperson of the Legal Translation Commission Union Minister Dr. Thida Oo said that 28 laws enacted in colonial era were translated into Myanmar language and Legal Translation Books No. 9 to 16 were also published during her chairpersonship.

Book No. 16 includes The Bills of Lading Act, The District Cesses Act, The Fatal Accident Act, The Myanmar Passport Act, The Poisons Act and The Religious Societies Act. During the meeting, discussions were made to ensure systematic and accurate translation of The Judicial Officers Protection Act, The Treasure Trove Act, The Obstructions in Fairways Act, The Myanmar Territorial Force Act, The Water Power Act and The Evidence Act. The meeting is set to be held for two days from 7th to 8th November.
