Training Opening Ceremony: MoST DM attended opening of EV Mechanics Training

Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zeyya, attended the opening ceremony of the EV Mechanics Training (1/2025) via video conference on August 5. The ceremony is being held in a hybrid format at the Technology, Vocational, and Teacher Training College (TTTC Baelin).

In his opening remarks, the Deputy Minister highlighted the benefits of using electric vehicles (EVs), such as reducing air and noise pollution for better health, eliminating the need for fossil fuels, and lowering maintenance costs due to the absence of engines. He also noted that EVs are environmentally friendly and contribute to the development of Smart Transportation Systems and Smart Cities.

Following the Deputy Minister's speech, the principal of TTTC (Baelin) provided details about the training course.

The five-day, 30-hour course will provide trainees with the practical skills required of an EV mechanic. Using advanced teaching modules, the curriculum covers a range of essential topics, including electrical safety, UNR 100 regulations, high-voltage drive systems, battery technology, control systems, the use of special hand tools, fault diagnosis and testing, and the practical procedures for disassembling, reassembling, and testing the traction battery and the electrical powertrain system.
