Tourism Vs Skills Development: MoHT Union Minister Attends Workshop

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung attended Tourism vs Skills Development workshop at the Ministry on Tuesday.

At the event, the Union Minister said that the Ministry is implementing for the capacity development of employees in hotels and tourism sector of Myanmar in cooperation with the National Skills Standards Authority (NSSA) under the Ministry of Labour.

There are 35 Assessment Centers and the work programs are being undertaken by 40 Assessors and 7 Chief Assessors. This workshop hopes to provide the progress of hotels and tourism sector. Officials from Myanmar Tourism Federation, the Department of Labour and the Training and Education Division of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism explained sector-wise implementations.

The topics concerning skilled enhancement of the staffs in the Ministry, skilled development of the staffs in hotels and tourism sector, private and labour market, implementation of ASEAN and ASEAN region countries and recognitions were discussed. After concluding remarks, the Union Minister presented certificates of honour to the participants.
