Tourism Industry: Union Minister receives Russia-based Commercial Director

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr, Htay Aung received Mr. Kosinkov Evgeny, Commercial Director of the Russia-based Yi Ling Tourism Co., Ltd. During the meeting at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, the Commercial Director requested the Union Minister to ease the need to obtain additional insurance in Myanmar for Russian citizens traveling with international travel insurance.

Discussions are underway with the Myanmar Airways International to operate flights for tourists from Russia. Myanmar will be able to attract more tourists if it’s easy and convenient for them to transfer money, the Commercial Director added. In his response, the Union Minister said the Italian Airline can fly passengers from Milan to Phuket with a stopover in Myanmar as usual.

The Myanmar Airways International is planning more flights. The Union Minister also pledged to coordinate with the relevant departments regarding the travel insurance fee and to facilitate the use of money. As the friendly relations between Myanmar and Russia increases, the Ministry has been accelerating cooperation on tourism industry, the Union Minister added.
