


Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung on 2nd May visited Heho Airport in Shan State, and inspected the work undertakings at the Information Counter which is opened for convenience of the passengers.
The Union Minister, together with Chief Minister Dr Kyaw Tun and officials, later attended a meeting to implement Kalaw as a hilly resort town. The Chief Minister explained the work undertakings by forming a committee and also the environmental conservation tasks.
The Union Minister also pledged to provide necessary assistance. The Union Minister later inspected sanitation works in Inle Lake, and met with the hoteliers in NyaungShwe. He urged them to provide the best services to the tourists, to carry out the tasks in line with the laws, rules and regulations and to cooperate in development of tourism industry and long-term maintenance of the Inle Lake.
The Union Minister later presented ASEAN Green Hotel Standard Award to the Aureum Hotel Resort and Spa, presented at ASEAN Tourism Forum 2022, held in Cambodia last January.
He also presented national level health and safety certificates to three recognized hotels. On 3rd May, the Union Minister attended the opening ceremony of Barrier Free Tourism Training in Kalaw, and made a speech, saying that the equipment needed for the persons with disabilities at hotels and tours have to be installed.
He called for cooperation of all concerned persons for development of the region. 116 trainees from the hotels at Kalaw and Pindaya and tour guides are attending the training.
