Tourism Development: MOH Union Minister inspects hotels in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aunginspected beautifying works around the hotels zone areas in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

Since Nay Pyi Taw is the capital city of the country, he urged all to makes up ervision for beautiful landscaping, illuminating colourful lights and ensuring health and safety of the visitors. There are over 6,000 rooms in 99 hotels and guest houses in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

The Union Minister later met with officials from the tourism associations and hotel industry. The Union Minister stressedthe needs to make cooperative efforts of the government and private sectorincluding the public. He pointed out that the ministry is providing assistance for remedy of tourism industry that has been impacted by COVID-19 pandemic suchas exemption of license fees, easing rental charges and disbursement of loans.

He called for active participation of hoteliers in attracting more tourists to the destinations through understanding the nature of tourism market. The UnionMinister and party later viewed the organic plantation in Park Royal Hotel as well as solar powered electricity supplying at Park Royal and Horizon Lake View Hotels.
