Tourism Development: Hotel Industry In Rakhine State

Rakhine State possesses many beautiful beaches, and the famous Ngapali Beach is situated in Thandwe Township.

Visitors from local and abroad came to Rakhine State to enjoy the natural beauties of the pristine beaches.

There are 79 hotels in Rakhine State under Covid-19 rules and regulations, and 9 of them from Ngapali Beach will be closed temporarily during monsoon.

Director, Directorate of Hotels& Tourism, Rakhine State, Tin Htun Aung said “79 hotels are being opened in the whole state with COVID-19 rules and regulations. According to the list, 9 hotels from Ngapali Beach will be closed during the rainy season. More hotels are also planning to closed temporarily to make preparation measures to prevent form the bad weather. During this season, most visitors come for their business purposes.”

The relevant departments and hotel staffs are providing their best services and taking precaution measures against the bad weather for the safety of the visitors.

Moreover, more hotel projects are being developed on MaKyaeNgu Beach in Gwa Township.

Director, Directorate of Hotels& Tourism, Rakhine State, Tin Htun Aung said “Some International Airlines are reopened and we hope more foreign visitors to come to Rakhine State. 2 hotel projects are under construction at the other side of Gwa Creek Bridge on MaKyaeNgu Beach. The project is being developed due to its natural beauty of the pristine beach.”

During Thingyan Holidays in April, Rakhine State received an increased number of visitors for local and abroad. The numbers of visitors during that period almost reached to the numbers received during the whole month of March.
