Tourism Attraction :Master plan turn Kalaw Township into resort town

The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism has drawn a master plan with a 3-year budget to turn the Kalaw Township into a resort town to attract local and foreign travelers to Southern Shan State. There are 30 processes in the master plan, and 5 processes will start this year.

Htin Aung Naing, Director, Directorate of Hotel & Tourism (Shan State), said " We formed a committee led by the Minister of Economic Affairs of Shan State Government. Then, the committee drew up a master plan with 3 years budget and there are 30 processes included. We will implement 5 processes first from the master plan this year. We will start with the upgrading the park near the clock tower in the center of Kalaw township. And we will erect the LED billboard to advertise the visit places, routes and hotels to stay. Also we will install the street lights on the routes of visit places."
To develop the Kalaw township as a resort town, the budget allocation is 1 billion kyats and 50 million kyats were spent on the master plan. The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism will implement the processes with tender system.
